NEEWS Request for Comments

The CEAB must issue Request For Proposals to solicit alternative energy solutions for certain Connecticut energy solutions. ISO-NE's Regional System Plan 2006-2007 identifies a need for a major 345kV transmission project known as the New England East-West Solution (NEEWS), an interstate Reliability Project including parts of Connecticut. Therefore on July 6, 2007 CEAB issued a Request for Comments (RFC) on the need or desirability of a CEAB RFP process associated with the need identified by ISO-NE.  The extended deadline for comments from interested parties was August 3, 2007. The RFC and comments received can be accessed at the links below. On September 4, 2007, representatives of CEAB met with company representatives of the utilities that submitted comments for clarification of matters raised. CEAB Issues NEW Request for Comment on RFP Exemption Criteria
The Connecticut Energy Advisory Board (CEAB) has issued a Request for Comment (RFC) on a Straw Proposal that establishes criteria the CEAB may consider in deciding whether to exempt projects from a Reactive Request for Proposal process pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 16a-7c(b) as modified by Section 54 of Public Act 07-242, An Act Concerning Electricity and Energy Efficiency.
